Daily Inspiration – Holi (Short Film)

You know when you get a chance to talk to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while & they remind you who you are, where you come from and how far you’ve come? This happened this week. Sometimes you get lost in a stupid routine and forget to pause, take a moment for yourself and realize how lucky you are. This film says it all. “Life is extraordinary. Embrace it”. Happy Friday!

Daily Inspiration – Exit Through The Gift Shop

I know I’m about a year late…. but I don’t care! I good film will always be a good film. If you haven’t seen this documentary you should. If you have, isn’t AMAZING? I just watched it and I was blown away. I’ve said before how much I love Banksy (here), how I enjoy Street Art (here), Street Art galleries (here) and Graffiti (here).  OK you get the point?!? Anyways, Exit Through the Gift Shop is an awesome documentary that anyone who enjoys this type of art should watch! It’s super entertaining and full of surprises. That’s all I would say for those who haven’t seen it…yet. No, go watch it!

Daily Inspiration – Bridemaids!

If you haven’t seen this movie, you must! Bridesmaids is one of the most hilarious films I’ve ever seen. To me it was the best comedy of 2011. Not only does it make you laugh out loud the whole time but it will also make you love the cast.

Coolest poster.

All the ladies are incredible! Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph have the best chemistry. They play best friends, and watching them will immediately make you think of your best friend. Melissa McCarthy definitely stands out too! It’s hard to pick a favorite.

Love them!

Before the best scene...

A couple weeks ago I got the chance to attend a special screening followed by a Q&A session. Director Paul Feig, writer Annie Mumolo and producer Judd Apatow were there. From the cast, the ladies that attended were, Elli Kemper, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Maya Rudolph! Yes, Maya was there and it was awesome!

Bridesmaids Q&A

Watching the film for a second time was even better than the first time. I absolutely loved it. To me it’s one of those films that will put you in the greatest mood no matter what you are going through. If you haven’t seen it, rent it! Make it a movie night with some friends, get the popcorn ready and enjoy!

They were super funny.

Have you seen Bridesmaids? Did you love it too? What was your favorite film from last year?

Hope you smile!

Inspiration Style – 50 First Dates

50 first Dates is another film I can watch over and over again. I love Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore together. Their chemistry on screen is great.  I’ve never been to Hawaii and this film makes me want to get on a plane right now.

:)

I love Drew’s character’s laid back style. Even the soundtrack is pretty awesome… where you can find this cute song!

One of my favorite scenes.

Love the lillies.

I love the fact that Drew’s character makes waffle houses from her waffles. I have yet to try that.

Too funny.

This little guy stole the show. I definitely recommend watching this film when you need to laugh a little or simply feel like watching a good romantic comedy.

Daily Inspiration – Photo-booths!

I’ve always loved to take pictures anywhere I go (as you all know by now) but taking pictures in a photo-booth is always more fun! There is something about those pictures that is just different. Like I mentioned before, Amelie is one of my favorite movies, I mean, a Photo-booth is part of the main story line, how are you not gonna love that?

In the movie, Nino loses his photo album where he collects pieces of old photos he finds while fixing photo-booths.

Amelie, directed by Jean-Perre Jeunet (France, 2001)

His album is something I really wish we could have on our coffee table. How awesome would that be? Like I said before,  I really want to go to Paris. When we finally go, I will have to take pictures in at least one of the photo-booths located in the Metro and rail stations where they filmed some of these scenes!. That will be my souvenir! (besides a miniature Eiffel tower statue, of course)

Amelie, directed by Jean-Perre Jeunet (France, 2001)

Amelie finds the album one day after Nino leaves it behind. She then starts leaving him clues with pictures of herself taken in the photo-booths so he can find it. Are you following me? haha

Anywyas I love photo-booths! I think the real old ones have something magical about them and just like old typewriters, they can’t be replaced. Don’t you agree? Do you like photo-booths too?

Hope you get inspired!

Inspiration Style – The Notebook

The Notebook… where do I start? One of my favorite movies of all time! Just look at the poster…

New Line Cinema 2004. Directed by Nick Cassavetes. Staring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams

Directed by Nick Cassavetes, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. The film was released back in 2004, stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love during the early 1940s. I know that pretty much every girl out there has this film on their top 10, and like I said before, who doesn’t like Ryan Gosling? Rachel McAdams is amazing in this film too! I bet there are tons of men out there who had to watch this film because of their wives, girlfriends, sisters, etc. and maybe deep inside they enjoyed it too. haha

I have to admit, this is the only film that made me go and buy the novel right after leaving the theater. I read the novel I think in a day or two and loved the movie even more.

The set design, the clothes, the music, the locations, everything was perfect. Like I’ve said before, the non-linear style is one of my favorite ways to watch a love story.

The Notebook is a classic film in my book and even after all these years, I still find myself saying… “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird”.

Inspiration Style – Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind

This movie is another classic in my book! Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a film directed by Michel Gondry. It stars Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Tom Wilkinson and many others.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Focus Features 2004. Directed by Michel Gondry. Starring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet is one of my favorite actresses of all time. Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors too (in my opinion way funnier than Will Ferrel) and both their performances in this film are outstanding. The film tells a story of a couple who are trying to erase their memories when their relationship takes a bad turn, only to discover how strong their love really was.

The film makes you travel in a very unique way, it’s definitely in my top 10. Kate Winslet’s character “Clementine”, has a very unique style that not everyone can rock, but she makes it work!

Their chemistry is incredible. Clementine’s (Kate Winslet) attitude and energy is something I relate to… not her craziness, well maybe a little of that too :)
