Daily Inspiraion – Wrapping Paper DIY

As you all know, my handmade themed have gotten out of control. With ornaments and gift tags I couldn’t leave out the wrapping paper. This is something you can do using the inside of paper bags from the store or with your standard brown packaging paper. I even saw some rolls at the dollar store! Then simply grab some rubber stamps + ink and have fun. You can use stamps related to the gifts or the person you’re giving it too. The options are infinite. Either way your gifts would be extra special. Happy Holidays!!!

Daily Inspiration – Salt Dough Gift Tags DIY

This year I’ve been having too much fun creating handmade gifts. Making salt dough gift tags was the perfect final touch.  I used different cookie cutters and even attempted to paint some. At the end I loved how the plain white ones looked with my wrapping paper (which I created with different rubber stamps). I guess I’ve taken the “handmade theme” to heart. Maybe I have a problem. HAH this is a great weekend project that takes no time, but it does take time to dry. Some people like to bake them (for three hours) I simply let them dry for a couple of days, to the point I forgot I had made them, HAHA. If you are up to the challenge, check out the easy instructions from “More Like Home”.  I promise you will have all you need at home so take a look and get crafty.

Daily Inspiration – Snowglobes {Love} notes DIY

Remember these beauties from last week? I mentioned how I might add little notes inside… Well, the extra detail makes them even more special. Simply adding a little love note on your tree takes your snow globe to the next level. Can’t wait to send some to family and friends!

P.S I can’t stop making snowglobes or cute little ornaments. I might have a problem.

Daily Inspiration – Owl Ornaments DIY

Last week, after making lovely snow globes and putting up our Christmas tree, I decided to make some cute ornaments. Only problem, I couldn’t find this little bag of felt I had. I gave up after 30 minutes. Then, on Tuesday I saw this cute DIY by Mayi Carles and almost died of cuteness. I also ran into this cute guy from Urban Owls‘s Etsy shop… it was on! After some deep searching, I found the felt I looked for all weekend. Luckily, I had the colors I wanted, fabric from my etsy necklaces, and the rest is history. If you are anything like me, you probably have all the materials at home. I even used cotton balls as my stuffing. HAHA I started playing around with colors and shapes and ended with a baby owl. I wanted more. In the end, I made one for each member of our little family. I’m in love.

All you need is felt, fabric scraps, cotton balls (which I forgot to photograph), hot glue gun (for the eyes), yarn for the string, needle and thread. Now the fun begins.

Play around with shapes and colors as you please. The choices are infinite. I can’t wait to create other animals & send some out as gifts (spoiler alert, again).

Daily Inspiration – Snowglobes DIY (Anthropology Style)

The second I discovered these lovely snow globes by Arielle Elise on Pinterest I knew I had to make them. I’ve seen the ones from Anthropology  but I wasn’t going to pay over $20 for it. Obviously making them myself will be more fun. I added my own twist, since I couldn’t find winter trees, I decided to “frost” my own trees. The end result was beyond what I expected. I’m in love with them and might even make some as gifts (spoiler alert).

Materials needed: Glass jar/Mason jar, hot glue gun, glitter, white acrylic paint, little brush & some miniature evergreen trees. Start by frosting your tree, then you glue it to the jar lid, fill up your jar with glitter and seal it. Voila! How easy is that? It literally takes 10 minutes to make one. Also, who knew a gravy jar could turn into such a lovely thing. HAHA I’m thinking on adding little flags to the trees with personal messages just to make them more special. Happy crafting!
