Inspiration Nook Cravings – 3 ingredients Apple Cake!

By now you know how much I enjoy these kinds of recipes (as seen here & here). They are always so much fun to make. Can you guess where I found it? Let’s all say it together… Pinterest!

I followed this easy recipe from A. Liz Adventures and 40 minutes later we were in heaven, cake heaven. I can’t wait to try this with a different fruit. Maybe pineapple? Enjoy!

Daily Inspiration – DIY “Metal” letters

I’ve always loved Anthropology’s metal letters but $18 dollars is a bit much for my taste. Thanks to Pinterest I discovered a way to make them (here). Being the DIY geek that I am, I already had some of the materials at home. I ordered some letters, got some metallic paint and was ready to go. I decided to use 12″ letters instead of 8″ to make them more appropriate for our high ceilings. At the end we are both thrilled and happy to say hello.

Have you made your own faux metal letters too? Isn’t Anthropology super inspiring? What stores inspire you?

Hope you get inspired!

Daily Inspiration – DIY Chalkboard frame plus Pinterest Challenge!

The Pinterest Challenge is back! For those of you who don’t know what it is, it’s simply making something you “pinned” a reality. In other words, getting off the couch, picking something you “pinned” and actually doing it. After seeing a million chalkboard frames on Pinterest I knew this would be the perfect project to tackle! (You can see all my past projects here, here & here). I also had a photo shoot coming up and making this would be the perfect prop. I had gotten chalkboard contact paper a few months ago (found here) so all I needed were some frames. Nothing a little trip to goodwill couldn’t resolve. $5 dollars later I had my own little chalkboard frames! Super easy, fast and cheap! I mean, instead of having a Subway foot-long I now have not one, but two little chalkboard friends!

The steps are simple. Clean one side of the glass from your frame, add your contact paper and frame it! Easy enough?

Aren’t they cute?!? Have you made your own chalkboard frames?

These challenges are not sponsored by Pinterest, we are all just Pinterest lovers! It was a fun event created by Katie @Bower Power and Sherry @Young House Love.

Also, their guest for this edition are Michelle @Ten June and Kate @Censational Girl.

Daily Inspiration – Chevron Wall DIY

A couple weeks ago I revealed our home office makeover (here). I also wanted to share how easy it was to create our accent wall. I did a lot of research on it but it wasn’t until I found this great Lowes tutorial that I got convinced it would be easy. All other posts I ran across were really confusing with all the math, this post having a video was the perfect match for me. If you ever want to create your own chevron wall at home, watch this video below and follow this great tutorial from Lowes right here. It was a bit of work but it was easy. It will take your room to a different level, so that for me was worth it. We are in love with our office and as I’m typing this post I can tell you that having a nice work space inspires you to work even more. Too cheesy? You know me.

Are you into Chevron walls too? Or any Chevron designs at all? See what else I liked with Chevron patterns right here.

Hope you get inspired!

Daily Inspiration – DIY Bracelets plus Pinterest Challenge!

The day has come. Another Pinterest Challenge reveal day!  These challenges were created by Katie @Bower Power and Sherry @Young House Love (Two of my favorite blogs). During past challenges, I had fun making these flower vases and painted pumpkins. This time around I didn’t paint anything. Instead, I made some awesome bracelets following a fun tutorial by Honestly WTF. It was so cool. As cool as Katie and Sherry for pushing me to create something out of my Pinterest boards. It was super easy and super worth it. The end result looks something like this…

Love them!

:)

Aren’t they cute?Have you made your own bracelets before? Did you participate in this winter challenge too?

I would love to see your projects! Share them with me by leaving a comment with your link below!

Fun fact these challenges are not sponsored by Pinterest we are all just Pinterest lovers!.

Inspiration Nook Cravings- Ideas!

I’ve been nonstop lately. Without much time to cook or bake. Lucky for me I know I have Pinterest to find new recipes and ideas for the coming weeks. I’ve been spending time with my mom who is here from out of town. That’s my excuse for the lack of cooking around the house. Next week I will have more time to play in the kitchen! Since then, check out some cool recipes I have on my radar…

Must try soon.

Wow...

This look incredible.

Prosciutto madness!

Sprinkles.... yes please!

Have you ever make any of this recipes? Which one would you try?

Hope you get inspired!

Daily Inspiration – Chevron!

No, I’m not talking about the gas station. Haha, I’m talking about the awesome chevron frenzy that is going on nowadays in my head! I blame Pinterest! In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s a simple zigzag like design. I’ve been a fan of anything chevron for a while now. You can wear it, admire it on the wall or even walk on it. Anyways, lately I’ve felt like being a bit creative and going on my own little DIY chevron adventure. I have yet to decide which way I’m going to go…either curtains, rug or art work. As always, I’ll let you know what I end up doing. Until then, here are some cool pictures that have been inspiring me.

Awesome Curtains from Oh Joy!

Lovely.

Awesome and affordable from Etsy.

Cute!

I must attempt this!

Great DIY idea!

Love this dress!

Isn’t anything chevron awesome? Do you like this style too? What do you prefer?

Hope you get inspired!

Daily Inspiration – Mayi Carles

This girl is pretty amazing. Her work was love at first sight for me. I came across Mayi Carles amazingness one day on Pinterest, that led me to her Etsy shop, and the shop led me to her awesome blog! Crazy right? I guess we are all connected somehow. She has awesome free printables,  that are great for any occasion if you ask me. Besides awesome printables she also has great prints and art.

Isn't this cute!

I’m the kind of person that believes that any random day is the perfect day for a little special note or gift. Those are the times you would appreciate it more… I guess I love surprises! Specially when I’m the one planning them.

Cute Tag (Printable)

Adorable!

I’m really into simple clean designs nowadays, the simple the better. Her work is on my top 10 for sure. Check out her work, blog and shop here. I would totally put this up in a little girl’s room, or even an office (Sorry my male readers, I think this post is too girly for you. Maybe you can give it away as a gift for any ladies in your life).

So pretty!

Do you like her work too? What other artists with similar styles do you like?

Hope you get inspired!
