Last week I spent the day at Newport Beach for work. Being there early in the morning during a weekday was very peaceful. This city holds a very special place in my heart since we know some very special people there (Hi Shari!). And of course, who can forget Balboa! Have you been to Newport before? Yesterday I decided to walk to the flea market. I know, not big news. It was for me. Not taking the 5 minute drive turned into an hour long adventure and I can’t wait to do again. Sometimes those little moments we take for granted are simply the best ones. Between this little walk and the Oscars it was the perfect Sunday. Did you have a good Sunday?
Sometimes the best thing to recharge is an impromptu family day adventure. Saturday was the perfect day for us. Enjoying the day with a special tour of the city of San Diego by good old friends was just what we needed. Looking forward to our next adventure already. Where do you go for day adventures?
It had been a while since we last went for a walk around Venice. This past weekend was a bit special (celebrating another year with the mister). We went back to a cute little spot where we had our first date. Venice always reminds me of why I love California. Sometimes going back there helps me recharge. Where do you go to recharge?
I had the opportunity to visit where I once lived as a little girl. Being surrounded by true family and friends was incredible. Being back in my grandpa’s home library was extremely inspiring. Every time I’m back I like to spend some time there. There is so many things to admire and take in. I will share some more pictures soon. For now, take a little tour with me…

Going through photos on my phone I ran across this one from the Santa Monica Pier. The texture of the wood almost gives away its history. Just imagine how many visitors from all over the world have walked on it before. Love taking pictures of random textures. Do you?
Yesterday I shared how awesome Liz’s Antique Hardware is (right here). Today, well they even have a gallery inside! Love places like these. The Loft at Liz’s is a fine art gallery that you can walk into literally from the store. I told you this place was fun! When we visited they had the “Diverted Destruction” exhibit. Which was amazing. Currently they are hosting the “Girl’s Doin It” exhibit, which consist of only women artists. Can’t wait to check it out. You must visit this gallery, it’s a lovely space.
This is another place we drove by for years never thinking stopping by would be this fun. The mister and I decided to stop by on a random weekend and what a surprise. Who knew a hardware store would be this fun to photograph. They were super nice too! If you are ever in L.A, Liz’s Antiques Hardware would be a fun place to visit. The best part, the little gallery on the second floor (coming tomorrow).

Oh the Rosebowl flea market. After falling in love with the Trading Post on Melrose over and over and over again, I was expecting to fall in love with the Rosebowl. It was a bit overwhelming to me. Maybe it was the size, maybe it was the heat, Either way I’ll definitely go back again. In the end it’s a flea market, my dream place to photograph.

If you are ever in Southern California this is a must stop. This little island never sees to disappoint for a little getaway. From their classic chocolate covered bananas to the cutest little ferry and shops you will always fall in love with something. Even a cute ferries wheel welcomes you as you step off of the ferry. Love places like this. Specially when there is no excuse to enjoy some soft serve ice cream while taking a scroll down main street.
