Can you believe Valentines is right around the corner? Me either. As you all know I went a bit crazy with all the handmade gifts during the holidays, from snow-globes to wrapping paper to canvases and gift tags. My family went crazy about it. I decided to continue my trend and make some cute love notes for Valentines. It’s perfect since they will be made with love. Get it? Too cheesy? Oh well.

All you need is scissors, scrap-booking paper, felt, ink + stamps, needle and thread (I used needle and thread that belong to my grandma so making these felt super special)

Start by cutting your paper into the size you decide to make your cards. Cut out hearts from the felt. Sew your heart onto the front of your card. Here you can have fun mixing different colors of thread with your heart. Then simply stamp the front or inside with your choice of stamps. I found these cute rubber stamps at  Joann’s by their dollar pile.

Making these cute cards is super easy and I’m sure your Valentine will love it! Happy Crafting!

Valentines came and went so fast. I know I’m a day late or two but who is counting? I decided to surprise my love and bake him some special Valentines cookies. I was brave enough to make them from scratch, which means making them without pre-made cookie dough! If you know me, that’s a big step. Anyways, I made little hearts, big hearts, lots of hearts and they came out great! The only bad thing that happened… was me burning my finger as I was taking them out of the oven… big success. Hey, I didn’t messed up the recipe so that on my book is a win!. I even made our own frosting which came out amazingly good. Glad I let him convince me to not use the pre-made one I bough as a backup. I made this cookies from a family recipe I promised to keep safe, you can find the recipe for the cookies here and for the frosting here.

I felt like ending this week with a positive message. In between breaks from my super busy schedule lately, I’ve been day dreaming a lot. Is one of my favorite things to do to relax and take it all in. I know I might sound crazy by saying that. By now you should now I am a bit crazy. I can’t believe January is over, that is almost Valentines day and that we are already enjoying 2012. Anyhow, you should love who you are, no matter the season, the year or the day. Valentines is an excuse to tell that special person in your life how much you love them. The perfect excuse to tell someone how much you care about them if you’ve never done it before. The special excuse to eat as much chocolate as you want… in the name of “love”. The perfect day to wear red lipstick. I particularity use Valentines for another excuse to go out and have a nice dinner date in one of our favorite spots. I might attempt to make cake pops with my new “cake-pop maker” Santa brought me.
