This particular spot at the Brooklyn Flea was my fave. I wish I could’ve fit some letters in my carry on.

Daily Inspiration – Artists & Fleas

Yesterday I told you about the Chelsea Market. Well, here is my favorite part of it… Artists & Fleas! A great corner full of independent designers and artists, plus a few vintage collectors! In other words, a modern flea market! I absolutely loved it. I think we spent a good hour and half in there. If you are ever at the Chelsea Market you must stop here too! So much talent and inspiration in one room. I would love to go back on my next East Coast visit. Have you been?

Daily Inspiration – Brooklyn Flea!

A few weeks ago I had a business trip in NY. After all business was done I stayed the weekend to explore the city with the best tour guides I could’ve asked for (Hi Courtney & James!). One of our very first stops was the Brooklyn Flea. Yes, a flea market! After watching Flea Market Flip a zillion times I always dreamt of going. My friends haven’t been there so they were excited to explore it too. I will say the prices were a bit higher than expected but I saw way more stuff than I’ve ever seen here. Maybe I’ve just been to the ones in L.A way too much. HA! I really wished I had an actual suitcase and not just a carry on since I fell in love with a few things that weren’t gonna fit. We’ve been looking for a wooden crate to hold our records and of course there were a ton there. If you are ever in New York during the weekend, make a quick stop here, it’s super fun. As always I got carried away with my camera so I will be sharing photos on a few posts. I must confess too, I had the most delicious lemon poppy-seed donut from Dough. God, I want to be back now. Have you been to this flea market? Which one is your fave?

Daily Inspiration – Downtown Flea!

Yesterday was the first day of the new Downtown flea market in Los Angeles. The mister was the one who found out about it and wanted to go. Which pretty much goes to show why he’s the one for me. We walked around for probably an hour and we were done. There was a big crowd, which made it a bit difficult to really get to see anything we liked. I’ll be honest, I would rather go to my fave spot any given Sunday. Some of the vendors I’ve seen at other events too so there wasn’t anything that really impressed me. But there is always a but , flea markets will always be one of my favorite spots to photograph. I will share all the pics in two posts, as always I got carried away. Do you have a favorite flea market? I’m dying to go the Brooklyn one. Crossing my fingers we can visit NY soon.

Daily Inspiration – Ruddy’s General Store

While at Palm Springs we ran into this cute little corner with different little museums. Ruddy’s General Store was so much fun. It was like going into a time machine. Not that I’ve ever been in one but this was pretty close to it. This place shows what a general store looked like back in the 30’s and early 40’s. All products are in their original packaging. If you are into any vintage advertising and design this little museum is a must stop. You only pay 95 cents to go in. How awesome is that?

Daily Inspiration – reFresh Gallery

To kick start my posts from Palm Springs, here are some photos from one of the first spots we stumbled upon, reFresh gallery! If you are into unique one of a kind 50s – 70s stuff then this is the spot for you! A cute doggie welcomes you as you enter, I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that.
