Daily Inspiration – Ruddy’s General Store

While at Palm Springs we ran into this cute little corner with different little museums. Ruddy’s General Store was so much fun. It was like going into a time machine. Not that I’ve ever been in one but this was pretty close to it. This place shows what a general store looked like back in the 30′s and early 40′s. All products are in their original packaging. If you are into any vintage advertising and design this little museum is a must stop. You only pay 95 cents to go in. How awesome is that?

To kick start my posts from Palm Springs, here are some photos from one of the first spots we stumbled upon, reFresh gallery! If you are into unique one of a kind 50s – 70s stuff then this is the spot for you! A cute doggie welcomes you as you enter, I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Daily Inspiration – Grandma’s coolest radio!

Have you ever seen a radio like this? My late grandma was known to have plenty of radios around her house to catch her lottery at night or listen to baseball games. Yeah, she was pretty awesome. Anyways, this little radio is another addition to our  treasures and I absolutely love it. I really haven’t seen anything like this. I’m telling you family treasures are the best.

Daily Inspiration – Grandpa’s treasure!

I’ve been sharing a few family treasures I inherited recently. I can’t believe I forgot to share these awesome binoculars. My uncle told me grandpa used to take him to horse races with these when he was a kid. The fact that there is family memories still attached to it made me smile big. They seem like a prop out of my favorite film from last year. Can you name it? Yes, I’m talking about Moonrise Kingdom. Anyways, I love them and can’t wait to create my own new family memories in the near future. What family treasures do you own and love?

Daily Inspiration – More Family Treasures

You thought I was done sharing these. Well, there is more. I’ll be honest with you, this disk camera caught me by surprise, I seriously didn’t even know they existed. They were made from 1982 until 1989, then they disappeared. That explains why I’ve never seen one before! Which makes this little cutie another cool addition to our family treasures. As you can see, my grandparents were pretty cool! Again, my love for photography is coming full circle.

Daily Inspiration – Family Treasures

Last week I shared this little friend with you. I promised I would share more. This camera today is a cute find that also belonged to my grandparents. I think discovering these might explain my love for photography…it’s definitely in my blood. Do you also collect family treasures?

Daily Inspiration – Grandpa’s Camera

A couple of weeks ago one of my cousins had a very nice surprise for me. An old camera that belonged to my late grandpa. It was unexpected. You can imagine my face and smile when I saw it. Being the geek that I am, I had to take pictures of it to share. Me and the mister started a little collection a couple of years ago. This camera is my favorite by far.  I have a bunch of old family photos that were taken with this same camera. My favorite discovery was the little “cheat sheet” on the back of it. Don’t you love family treasures? P. S I will be sharing more soon.
